nayray13 0 Posted August 27, 2008 hey teri, i have gained 6 pounds since my final viisit aug.12, that is terrible...i am having to check myself...i thought the reason for the pre-op diet was to shrink the fat away from the liver, so they could maneuver around it safely? maybe u don't have a fatty liver...i do. they gave me the pre-op diet, and the gave me a bowel prep to do the day before...so like i was saying maybe you don't have fatty liver problem? incipientesquire 0 Posted August 28, 2008 I lost 10 pounds in the past 3 weeks or so, since I scheduled my surgery ... we didn't have a specific pre-op diet at Cedars in Los Angeles, but the dietician suggested I try integrating the shakes for Breakfast ... gg2007BandSTAR 0 Posted August 28, 2008 technically i dont even have to do a pre op diet, but i chose to do a 4 week one. 2 weeks low call and two weeks Protein Shakes. because ay weight i can loose will be benficail to me....but there are times i wish i wasnt on the diet, especially the first few days on the liquid diet. but hey not long to go now....4 days wooo! xxx
aprilapple 1 Posted August 29, 2008 I will be banded 9/9 and I do not have a pre-op either. I do have a day before surgery Clear Liquids diet and fleet bowel cleanse. I was told that the Dr. does not want any food in your bowel in the event that the bowel is nicked during surgery. That could lead to infection. If you eat so much as a piece of toast in the 24 hrs before surgery they will reschedule you.
