JoannMarie 0 Posted August 27, 2008 Welcome, Ms Rob. This is a great thread for love and support. I have not been banded yet, but I am full into LBTalk for the everyday information I've gained prior to the big event. I am impressed every day with how strong and supportive the people are on several of the threads. It is wonderful to see the person who needs the support of others today will be giving loving support to another tomorrow. Blessings,
Denee 1 Posted August 28, 2008 Hi, I am not the one being banded, it is my husband. He is the pastor of Ashley Road Baptist Church in Morris, IL. His weight has affected his ministry. He isn't able to visit like he wants to. Our church has been awesome. They have rallied around him. Tonight they all were excited about his Psych appt on Saturday. It has been a blessing to have our church family in our corner. Stick with it, want a blessing you can be to the ladies in your church. 1 123crod reacted to this

Meekie 5 Posted October 14, 2008 Hey ladies, I am a pastor's wife with the band. We are Americans living in Germany and pastoring an international flock. God is awesome. I was banded 29 Aug and am on my way to a better life. Thank you, Jesus, for this band. We will be separating from the military in less than a year and staying here to do God's work. Take care all,

LadyT150 5 Posted June 3, 2011 PTL sis.. I am a pastor's wife and you are right about that we do have our own special challenges we must hold one another up in prayer... does your congregation know? and are you in ministry ( platform ) as well... being the wife of a pastor is a ministry in itself! Meekie 5 Posted June 3, 2011 PTL sis.. I am a pastor's wife and you are right about that we do have our own special challenges we must hold one another up in prayer... does your congregation know? and are you in ministry ( platform ) as well... being the wife of a pastor is a ministry in itself! Most of our congregation knows about my band. (I was banded August 2008). Those who were there then know. We are a military community so our flock changes often. Newer people who come in usually don't ask until they see a picture of me or someone notices I don't eat much. I don't hide it but I don't blast it from the mountain top either. I also am willing to share my success with others who struggle. Many times believers feel guilty that we haven't prayed enough, fasted enough or whatever to get the weight off. I always share that God has different methods for different people. He instantly healed some as for another, he made a clay out of spit and put it on the man's eyes and then he was healed. So, as the Lord leads, I share. Yes, I am on the ministry platform as well. 1 LadyT150 reacted to this
Rachel412 116 Posted June 26, 2011 Hey ladies! I'm a minister's wife. It was my decision to not tell the congregation about the surgery- I didn't (and don't) want them worrying about me. Doesn't seem like many of them have noticed my weight loss yet, but that's OK. We're starting VBS tomorrow and I'm noticing how much more I can move around, bend, stretch than I could last year at 40 pounds heavier! I'm glad to see there are others here in my position 1 LadyT150 reacted to this
LadyT150 5 Posted November 25, 2011 hey there, how are you doing on your journey? My day is approaching, my surgery date is 12/13. Not everyone in my congregations knows, but most do, the ones that I am around the most.
TexasJeff 179 Posted June 26, 2012 I am not a pastors wife but I am a lay preacher in our church here in San Antonio. I've made it known to our church I've had the lap band as many in our church would benefit from this type of surgery. The only time I'm sad that I've had this procedure is when we have a potluck. As a chef/baker I get ambushed with request for the next potluck. If you look at my picture I'm holding a Snickers bar cheesecake from a few months ago. Yesterday it was a from scratch German chocolate Cake and a banana Eclair Cake. I get one bite just to make sure it's edible. LOL Next month I've been commisioned to smoke a brisket so we can have brisket taco's. One member said she'd make the tortilla's. Anyways, I just found this Christian section of the site and this is where I'll be looking for support.
