azrosebud 0 Posted August 27, 2008 Hello, I was wondering if the 5 year history can be just one Dr. visit a year with weight recorded or what the standard is. Also, I have a record for each 5 years and all but one of the years I am over the 40 bmi - for one year I am at 39.1. Any one dealt with getting denied for having just one year that isn't at the 40 bmi? Not sure if I qualify for co-mid's, but I have high cholesterol and back and neck pain, and my PCP has noted in his recommendation letter about those conditions. I'd love to hear someone else's experience with this - I am stressing out that I'll get denied and of course I've so set my hopes on being able to get this done with insurance paying. I am in AZ and have UHC.
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted August 27, 2008 I can't help you; my insurance doesn't require all that. I suggest you call your insurance company and get someone to go over it all with you very precisely; then you'll know! They are all different!
Jodi_620 37 Posted August 27, 2008 I am not speaking from experience, I have UHC too but there were no requirements for approval with my policy. I wouldn't think that the fluctuating weight would hurt you. It shows that you have problems maintaining weight loss. Plus you were not that far below 40.
