Sorry, but it's very common to not feel like you have had a fill for the first couple of fills. Try to get another one as soon as your doctor will allow it.

Work with your band & eat only one cup of food every 3-4 hours, until you can get to restriction. You & your body will get use to it.

Choopie,

You're not alone. I was banded on 07/02, and just had my first fill 08/14 and have zero restriction. I can eat WAY more than I should and having the will power only gets me so far. Hey, if we all had SO much will power, we wouldn't need the band... I am going on Thursday this week for my second fill and I am praying for some restriction. I have lost a total of 12 pounds, but that was 2 weeks pre op and one week post off... I haven't lost anything the past few weeks and it sucks. Well, I also twisted my knee two weeks ago and haven't been able to even take a walk outside let alone swim or bike...

I wold request another fill ASAP if I were you!!

Hang in there girls. You will be able to eat more than 1 cup of food before you are restricted. It will get there and you will be happy and healthy and skinny!!! Give the band a chance to do the work for you!!

Don't get discouraged, I went thru that as well. I had band placed June 4th, 2008 and 1st fill .5cc July 14th and felt no restriction!!! A few weeks went by and funny enough the restriction started but I just had a 2nd fill 1.5cc Aug. 25th, 2008 and I will keep you updated on my restriction b/c I am on liquids at the moment!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
