When is your surgery?

Recommended Posts

Since we're getting closer and closer to November and more and more of us are finding out when our surgery dates are I thought it might be good to have a thread to keep them all in check, like a little November calendar for us all.

Feel free to add when and where your surgery is.

November 5th with Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana for me.

I'll find out which date for sure in October or the end of September. But. It will either be November 2nd, 10th, 17th, or 24th. I am hoping and praying for the 10th. Just works out best. ;)

Hi all, my surgery is scheduled for Monday November 24th with Dr. Borao, Monmouth Medical, Long Branch NJ. I have not received approval as of yet because I am still doing my six month visits with my PCP. November will be month six and then ALL paperwork will be sent in. I'm told it shouldn't be an issue for approval and I sure hope they are right.

I just got back last night from the Outer Bank, NC and had a great time. I am now soooo looking forward to my surgery. I plan to be a lot smaller when we go next year, woohoo!!! :)

Hi everyone,

My surgery is scheduled for November 3rd with Dr.Rabaza in Miami, FL. I'm so excited I can hardly wait. My mom is still getting her clearance but hopefully she will get approval in time and we'll get banded on the same day. Good luck to everyone.

Hi Notorious Novembers!

My surgery is in November, hoping it to be Nov. 12th, could be before or lil after. Have Pre-ops scheduled, and want to prepare at home (like nesting-or am I the only one?) Ready for a new start, and new physical me. Would enjoy November Buddy, I am in Northern California. Have a good day!

P.S. Is Notorious Novembers 'the' group name?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
