Ok so... I had my surgery on Wed the 20th. Doctor says after 2-3 days you can introduce yougurt, pudding and fudgesicles into my diet. Today I have drank Water and aple juice, had about 1/3 to 1/2 of chicken broth, a small yogurt and a fudgesicle. Does that seem like too much? I dont want to go wrong but I have been holding everything down. A girl that goes to same doctor as me was barely able to eat 1 whole yogurt in a days time. PLEASE HELP!! Dont want to stretch my pouch but i have eaten nothing wrong.

You should be fine. As long as you are eating small portions at a time it should not be a problem. Make sure you watch the apple juice, full of sugar & calories!

The band is different for everybody. You may feel less restriction than the other person and that is perfectly normal. You need to listen to your body and follow what your doc tells you to do.

Sounds OK but I agree that the apple juice is loaded with sugar and the yogurt shouldn’t have any fruit chunks or seeds at this point. I am in the same boat as you I can tolerate anything that is OK’d by my program list and don’t feel any restriction but everyone is different. Do what your doctor/program say; it is all about healing….Good luck.

Also remember that if you are feeling hungry the more protien you get the better. Unjury has the unflavored kind of protien supplement. You can add a tablespoon or so to creamed (strained of blended soups) or anything you want to get more protien. That will help you stay full longer. I think it sounds like you're doing real good. I would save the pudding for a treat and choose yogart through the day. The light and fit yogart drinks are good and not much sugar in them. Keep up the good work!

i agree...i've been able to tolerate much of what i'm allowed to eat...and at first that was scary. i thought there was something wrong. LOL

going to have to find some of that powder. i so agree...the more Protein i eat the less hungry i am and the longer i can go before wanting to eat again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
