Hi everyone, I had my band placed on August 18th. For the most part everything has gone smoothly except this horrible rash and itch that I am having around the sites. I guess I am allergic to the adhesive used for the steri strips. I cannot make the itch and burning sensation go away and it is making me crazy. Yes, I am using Benadryl cream and taking it by mouth. I am still on the full liquid diet. I cannot tell if i am hungry, gassy, or just in pain at any given time. I feel like I am doing well with my meals except for the Water. I have never been good at drinking water. I have added crystal lite and Decaf tea to it to spice it uo a little. I have walked alot to get rid of the gas. that does help!!! Glad to be here to share this journey with all of you.

hi i was done on the 19th august, and i also have red and itchy rash around the site, as it was day 4 yesterday, i peeled the dressings off, all dry and clean, rash has stopped itching, and i feel 100% better. i also am finding it difficult, with the fluids, i have been sipping staminade, for the first few days, to give me some energy, i felt so shakey and faint. feel better today, have had some fresh veg and fruit juice, staminade, and a Protein Shake. good luck with it all hope it works out well for you. jo.

I wish removing the steri strips would have made it go away. I took them off on Friday and my belly looks gross. This really red bumpy rash that itches like I don't know what. Benadryl isn't really helping. I hate Slim Fast so I found away to get the benfits and enjoy it. I mixed it with some frozen fat free vanilla yougart that is made with splenda and blended it like a milkshake. I can only drink 1/2 cup but it is wonderful. I have potatoe Soup today but i had to put it in the blender because it was too chunky. It looked like gruel but tasted good.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
