Hi Everyone...I was banded Aug 18 and am still in my first week. This is also my first time on a blog. I lost 10 lbs presurgery and 4 so far this week. Seems like every other day I am experiencing some hunger. I am definitely sick of those sweet Protein Shakes and have consolidated the Protein into one shake to which I am adding lemon juice. I see the doc Monday for the first post-op. Hope he says this is OK.

Hi, just noticed your post and we were banded the same day. Good luck. I have tried to mix up my food choices so I don't get bored. I made a frozen Protein Shake tonight and it was goood!! I think that it was a bit more than I could handle because i drank it 20 min ago and i feel like I had Thanksgiving dinner. It was only 6 ounces but it was thicker than anything I have had so far. Maybe I will half it next time...ugh. I guess we will leran exactly what are bodies can handle and what it can't. Well keep me up to date on your progress. I had 86 pounds to lose to reach my goal. 11 down and 75 to go....

I was surprised to get a message. I am so glad I decided to post. Hey, we have about the same amount to lose!

I have tried to stick to 2oz per "dose"...but I have filled up my baby stomach more than that at times...What did you put in the shake to make it good????

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
