Bandette08 0 Posted October 20, 2008 Hi Everyone, Well my big day is Oct. 24,I'm not real excited because I know what lies ahead, but because of health issues I'm doing the LBP. I will have to foreve give up a lot of my favorite foods, but it was a choice I had to make. Love to all and God Bless bradley18:thumbup: You will be fine, just follow your surgeon's orders. The first cple of weeks will be a challange. Use your mind, not your heart. My advice would be to keep your hands busy. Do a craft, talk on phone, hang out on lapbandtalk which really helped me first two days after I got home. The worst & most sorest day is Day 2 after surgery, at least it was for me. By end of week 1, you will be able to sleep on your side..Everyone is different. Anyways, you would not feel like eating first few days anyways Congrats on your surgery date and good luck rest of the way!!!!!! SG

LoriEmbree 0 Posted October 20, 2008 Hi there! My surgery date is scheduled for October 30, the day before Halloween! Halloween is a BIG DEAL in our family, so since I have to opt out of this year's festivities, I think I will be going as a SKINNY WOMAN next year! :-)

Renita 0 Posted October 20, 2008 Hi Renita, My son is on the Autism Spectrum too and that was my biggest fear. What if something happens to me and I am not there to take care of him. Everyone in my family loves him to pieces, but they don't know how to manage him quite like Mommy does! But we made it through so all is well  I don't have a temperature, but my port incision is a little warm. Anyone else have a warm icision without pain or fever? Josiegurl--Exactly, my family loves my kids and they are really pretty good overall but my parents are older and my in-laws probably couldn't handle it all daily . Just for me to go for surgery it seemed I had to write a book on what to do around here..for my hubby too. Although I love him and he is a good man sometimes men need "direction".ha Good Luck with everything. Renita
pat7go 0 Posted October 20, 2008 Hi Everyone! Got banded on 10-13-08. I was really worried about hunger post-surgery, but I really haven't missed food that much. I quickly got tired of Protein Shakes, so I have been pureeing a lot of things, and adding Protein Powder. Does anyone else feel really weak? I am getting more than 60 grams of Protein and lots of Water daily, plus all my chewable vitamins. I also have a lot of pain where I think the port is, but I stopped taking pain medications because of the drowsiness. Have to go back to a very physical job next week, and I'm worried! I got liquid Centrum and it is DISGUSTING!!!
 annecolorgreen 0 Posted October 21, 2008 I am taking Centrum chewables but you can take two Flinstones.
 rondapooh1 0 Posted October 21, 2008 Hi Everyone! Tomorrow's the big day for me too. I'm torn between being totally excited and a little scared. It's silly! I had gallbladder surgery 3 years ago and the doctor said it would be a similar surgery. I was fine and returned to work in 5 days. However...my son will be 4 in a few weeks and all I can think about is what if..... AARRGG. I even wrote my family letters just in case. My hubby read them and said that this was the only time he'd get to read them because he would delete them tomorrow when we get home. :tongue2: So, I'm just venting. I know everything will be fine. So, I'm going to go have my last bit of protien for the day and fold up some towels. You know how it is...can't leave a towel unfolded before vacation. I guess the same applies for surgery. Good Luck to Everyone Tomorrow!
