LoveIslovely 0 Posted February 28, 2009 (edited) Hi everyone! Just wishing everyone continuous success!!! As of this moment I will no longer continue to try and lose weight, since I am pregnant. I am not overweight, yeiii!! Im pretty happy, I will continue to exercise and eat healthy for my baby's health and of course for mine. Not really scared of gaining weight durigng the pregnancy but the doctor told me, I will probably have no problem keeping the weight gain at 15 pounds! So far I am still losing, I increased my calories and now I only focus on the treadmill for a brief one hour walk. Good luck!!!! FYI: My weight loss slowed down A LOT, but of course I did l ose about 80 plus pounds three months after surgery, so I was not dissapointed at all. In fact, with my height 200 pounds looks pretty damn good. I never wanted to be a skinny minnie! Edited February 28, 2009 by LoveIslovely
KarenK 0 Posted February 28, 2009 LoveIsLovely - I actually weighed less after I had Emma than I did before since I ate right. Obviously, it didn't last or I wouldn't be in this position. I hope you do wonderfully. I am working on setting a small goal for myself. I am thinking down a total of 75 lbs before my parents get back from Arizona April 1st would be a good one. Or I might try something less scale oriented since I'm trying to avoid using it so often and try for fitting well into a 16 (they're quite tight right now). Hope everyone is having a good day. Vickie 0 Posted February 28, 2009 I posted a few days ago on you'lls site and things went bad. Feb. 25 I had my second fill. I followed the rules I fasted no food for 12 hours before my appointment time, only drinking Water. He puts in 2.25 because I have been complaining that the 1 cc. that he put in on Feb. 2. was not effective. I could eat lobster and steak (small amounts) cut and chewed properly. He was hesitant to put 2.25 CCs but I was able to drink 12 ounces of water after the 2.25 fill and I gulped the water strait down being a little on the smug side. He said Vickie you call me if there is a problem. I arrogantly (but in a teasing way) told him that I would be making an appointment for another cc in 6 weeks. After a few hours, I got home and the wrath of God descended upon me for being such an egotistical bitch. I threw up water all afternoon, all night, and the following morning Feb. 26th. I don’t know how I had that much water and mucus in my system. I called him early in the morning and told him I was going to have to eat crow for all the smart assed attitude I had and would he please take out a little bit of the distilled water. Well he told me to come right in—but things got even worse until they got better. He took at the entire fill and hit a blood vessel in the process. Blood squirted in his face, running down my back. I looked at the water removal and it had blood in it, not much but it was definitely colored, traces of blood. He tells me that my band has been traumatized and needs to heal and threatens to leave it empty so I plead with him no at least put what I had back in which was 1 cc so he put back 1,25 ccs. So now I'm back with no restriction and a very sore bruised band. I wished I had just gone back to TJ where I had the band done in the first place. At least they use x-ray and you can see what is going on. I feel so stupid for not doing that and wasting money that I don't have to spear. Sorry to be rambling on and on. julie.ann 1 Posted March 1, 2009 Vickie- I'm so sorry you had all that happen. I know it is one of my biggest fears. If it makes you feel better I have heard even with xray these things happen. Sometimes you just get tighter after your adjustment. Nazzy - good luck on your fill. I get my third fill on Friday. Let me know how yours goes. I'm worried about getting too tight. I drive 7 hours one way for a fill. I'm on the road 14 out of 24 hours. It sucks, but the fills are only $15 and it is my doc that did my band. But if I ever have to go for an emergency unfil it is going to be a long trip.
Mollyjo 0 Posted March 1, 2009 julie.ann;1159579]I think you might be tight, but some people are much tighter in the morning and by noon it gets better. You also may have some swelling. Warm liquids is a good idea. See how you are feeling later today or tomorrow. Things may settle down for you. If not then I would give your doctor a call for a small unfil. I think you are right Julieann... I woke up twice choking on my salvia..but I lost 3 pounds since friday! so I don't know if i want to call or not!! LOL I was able to eat a small amount of dinner last night and pudding today...but it is miserable. I called and left a message but will be unable to even get to the dr office this week(they are 3 hours away) So maybe if i lose a little weight the band will loosen up a bit so i can eat something...ugh

I took some liquid motrin it seemed to calm it down and reduce the sweling. I travel 3 hours to get mine filled and I too am afraid to let anyone else touch it. They use fluro on every visit, it cost a little more but it eases my mind. Hang in there and give your body time to heal. Where are you at?

KarenK 0 Posted March 2, 2009 Hi all - Just checking in. My small fill last week seems to be helping with the hunger quite a bit. Still doesn't take care of all of the cravings, but then those aren't necessarily due to hunger - mostly boredom. I took a huge step today. I ordered a swimsuit! Yikes! I told my daughter when her dance competitions started up this Spring, that I would go swimming with her at the hotels we stay at - one of her favorite things. So, today I bucked up & bought a swimsuit. I didn't spend much money. I'm still losing weight and refuse to spend lots of money on a swimsuit I hopefully won't be wearing too long, but a big step for me nonetheless! Have a good day, all. Ewiedbingcott 9 Posted March 3, 2009 Everyone is doing great. Just wanted to share this bit of insight I had today. I know I'm going to sound stupid here, but here goes. I've been bemoaning how little weight I've lost. After all, it's 4 months and only 24 lbs. Wah Wah Wah. Then I realized that only 6 more pounds and I will have lost 30. Somehow this made all the difference. It turned the negative into a positive. I will be thrilled to lose 30 lbs! I'm counting my calories diligently each night. I've done this before during other weight loss efforts, but this is chaning the way I think about food. Before, I would have had a yoghurt (I choose a brand of Greek yoghurt that's 130 calories and 13 grs. of protein). Before, the band I would think that's not enough bang for my buck - doesn't fill me up -- isn't a ton of food (I'm a volume eater). Now, I try not to eat unless I'm hungry (I try to listen for that stomach growl - so unfamiliar to me before - lol). If I haven't eaten in the a.m., a yoghurt at about 11 a.m. tides me over until a later lunch. Somehow, it's just different. I'm also more conscious about the food I'm eating and it's caloric/protein value. The other thing is that when I eat a little too much one day, I don't despair like before. Before, if I went off my eating plan I'd simply throw up my hands and say, this isn't working, it will never work, blah, blah , blah. Yesterday I had more to eat than I intended (those dang Girl Scout Cookies my granddaughter sold me, & ribs I made for dinner). Today though, my new and better self, is right back on program, eating, drinking the Water. Went walking for 30 minutes this a.m. and will try to do more this evening. I'm lovin' my band:tt2:
julie.ann 1 Posted March 3, 2009 Ewiedbingcott- That is great! Way to go. A positive attitude makes such a difference!!! I fell into not eating anything until late in the morning. I encourage you to jumpstart your metabolism as early as you can. It helped when I started slowing down. Egg beaters or a couple of poached eggs give you a good amount of Protein and very little calories. (I don't eat the yolk in the poached egg.) That way you body thinks that it has plenty and it is time to burn more calories. Just a tip that has helped me. Keep up the great work. I can't wait for my fill on Friday! skinnydippn42 0 Posted March 3, 2009 I have not lost anything for about 3 weeks now. I have increased my treadmill time over 2 mph for 30 + minutes to every day & go Bowling mosts Fridays. I "think" I'm losing inches but no weight. I see my Doc on March 12th., maybe I need another FILL, not sure yet. They say this banding weight loose is slow but this seems to be TOO slow. Time will tell, Don

Time will tell, Don Don, Keep the faith. We did not find all this extra weight overnight and it won't come off overnight. Sometimes I plateau for a time and then all of a sudden lose 2 or 3 lbs in a couple of days. Keep on with what you are doing. It will happen! Besides, you are not gaining and you are feeling so much better in your clothes and better able to do the exercise, right?
