~Bridgette~ 0 Posted September 21, 2008 JG~ Once you have your code for your ticker (write down your password somewhere so you can change it) then under User CP you can "edit signature" paste the code in there. Yes, Smashing Pumpkins are for October Bandsters. I went to the site and made my little sparkly banner thingy... then did the same thing.. copy the code and paste it in my signature. You can preview your signature to make sure it looks right. Hope that helps! If you have any questions, just ask. =)
abrouill 0 Posted September 21, 2008 Hello everyone, I have posted before but now I finally have a confirmed date--October 1!--Very excited and ready. My sister had the surgery 2 years ago and looks awesome! I had to go self-pay and that was another fiasco! took out a personal loan. WOW! banks are tough these days because of the economy. Felt like I had to sign away my first born! all in the past now, just looking ahead. Good luck to all. This is my 40th birthday gift to myself. Best wishes to all
JOSIEGURL 0 Posted September 21, 2008 Hi again  I thought I was computere literate, but I cannot find any instructions on how to add the tickers! I went to tickerfactory and there is a BBCode and HTML code. I tried adding to my signature and when I preview it is just the code, not the ticker. If anyone has a minute to tell me exactly where to put the code I would love to make my profile pretty. Thanks:thumbs_up:
illinoishusker 0 Posted September 21, 2008 Try putting after the code. see if that works. I can't get one to fit under my siggie. lol
JOSIEGURL 0 Posted September 21, 2008 Thank you to Lori and Bridgette!! I left out the part before the IMG and it worked. I was actually crusing the baby aisle for things I might eat after surgery - it sort of feels surreal! Just a thought - who has to stay overnight at the hospital? I think I have a 23 hour stay. I am sort of hoping to go home late that night as my sugery is at 8:30 in the morning.

Losing 2 0 Posted September 22, 2008 Well, I was all set to go... approved by Dr. Cahill & approved for my loan. I was all set to start my liquid diet this Friday & have surgery on Oct. 2nd. Received a late email from the loan specialist and there was a small problem with my loan that I won't be able to rectify very soon. Not sure why they didn't explain all of this to me sooner... but, here I go - I'm back on a roller coaster. The more I think about, I might really wait and change health insurance again this year. I keep changing and running into road blocks. If things don't work out with this loan - I am going to read each and every Federal Employee Health Benefit plan that comes out in November! This time, I hope I can spot one that will cover me for this surgery without needing to jump through the hoops of the insurance game. Continued to success to all of you!! Bandette08 0 Posted September 22, 2008 I LOVE Slim Fast, but I can't have that period. My surgeon and Nutritiionist said NO NO to Slim Fast. It has way too much sugar, not good..I just got some Atkins Advantage and EAS...Will find out this week what I think of those Protein drinks!!! Come on Oct. 6th, I can't wait to get banded. ~Bridgette~ 0 Posted September 22, 2008 Hey Sweet ~ we're using the LOW Carb Slim Fast. It's got 2 grams of Net Carbs per can and so delicious. They may be thinking of the regular slim fast optima (that's full of sugar!) When I was doing the Atkins diet, I used the Atkins shakes they were ok too... but IMO the slim fast are creamier and not as chalky tasting. I like to put them over ice when I have time to sip them slowly, reminds me of a frosty from Wendys.

MamaC 0 Posted September 22, 2008 Hi everyone, I am new here. I am on day 3 of my pre-op liquid diet. I am getting my band on Oct. 2 at the local hospital. As it turns out, I will be the first lap band patient at this hospital. My surgeon has done many of them at a hospital about 30 miles from my home; our local hospital is newly accredited so I get to be the first. I am very excited as I know most of the nursing staff and am going to get great care. I have tremendous support from my family, my church family and my co-workers. I have been researching WLS for about two years, and chose lap band in January of this year. I have been attending a support group and I have found that to be really helpful. It's good to talk to someone who has actually gone through it. I am excited about communicating with you all and learning when I can and helping when I can. Vickie 0 Posted September 22, 2008 Thanks maybe we can keep in touch. Where are you getting your surg? Do you have to do a 2 week liquid diet? Im nervous about that.Good luck to you too.:rolleyes2: Yes I think the two week liquid diet is the norm. I'm going to Mexico to have my done because I have to pay for it myself. I am also depending on my PFD (monies from the State) to come in so pray for me. I think all of the October people are a little nervous and It is getting harder to go to sleep because we anxiously await our surgery and I think we should be proud of ourselves for stepping forth and trying to help our health situation.:girl_hug:Regards, Vickie
angelx5 0 Posted September 22, 2008 YES!! I get banded on the 16th! I cannot wait, yet I am a little nervous...questions still popping up in my mind like "How long can u really keep the band in?" or "What if I do too strenuous exercise and it coems loose", etc....I know the answers are that They are meant to be left in and they can fix the problem if the band slips.....just normal nerves I guess....nothing "outweighs" (no PUN inteneded!) teh fact that I have to do this for ME I want to live the REST of my life BETTER than I have the FIRST half!!:rolleyes2:
