Ewiedbingcott 9 Posted November 20, 2008 Well I'm looking forward to that "can't eat another thing" feeling again that I had after surgery.
AuntieGG 0 Posted November 20, 2008 Hi Everyone, I was banded on 10/28 and had lost 15lbs by 10/11. As soon as I started on mushies, my weight loss stopped. My doc has me starting back on solid food at the 4th week, and since Tuesday, I've gained 4 lbs back. I'm not happy to see that weight come back at all. And of course about the second I put a mushie morsel in my mouth, my appetite came roaring back. I know I don't have much restriction at this point, so I'm trying to not get discouraged. It's hard when people keep asking how much weight I've lost. It's not fun to tell them it's fluctuating like this. They don't understand that weight loss is not linear, even with the band. Ewiedbingcott 9 Posted November 20, 2008 Well, it's nice to know that there's someone out there like me! Right now I dont even feel like I have a band unless I rub over the port site. But, I do feel somewhat different - before I would have felt helpless and hopeless that I was doomed to being fat forever. Now I have hope that I will be able to get this under control when I get my fill.
rondapooh1 0 Posted November 21, 2008 Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop in for a quick update. My weight has finially started to move again. YEAH! I'm down 32 lbs as of today and hopefully it's still moving. My scale barely moved for weeks!!! I find that I can eat anything excluding soft breads or Gummy Pasta. Other than that, everything goes down well. My favorite thing right now is chicken salad on low fat crackers and some fruit. I'm eating more though and don't have a tone of restriction. However...I finially went out to a Mexican dinner on Sunday. WOW...I can't eat nearlly as much as I use to eat. Mexican was my cheat food. I would eat so many chips and cheese dip and then eat a huge combo of food or maybe even fajitas with all the trimmings. I did have a few chips and cheese dip, but stuck to a slow roasted fajita mixture without any of the other stuff. I bet I only have 1 cup of food and some chips and dip. However, I counted the calories and wow...it was a ton. So, no more mexican food for me for a while. It's nice to have a cheat sometime, but I can't do it every day. One other small note, I threw up at lunch Tuesday. It was so stupid. I was talking and forgot to chew well. It was only the 2nd bite of salmon, but it got suck. I thank god that it was only a small bit and that it didn't come from the stomach. Lesson learned on my end. Best wishes all!

Mollyjo 0 Posted November 25, 2008 I have lost a pound and want to change my ticker...I know it's only a pound but I am counting EVERY one of them! Can anyone tell me how to change the numbers?? Thanks..
NormaRae 0 Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) Click on your ticker in one of your posted messages. That will bring you to a place where you can type in the password you saved for your ticker and then allow you to change the information. HINT...you will have to enter your password two times before it actually works so don't get frustrated when it does not work at first. Tyme2GetRite 0 Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) Hello All, Okay i think i'm right smack in the middle of Bandster Hell. I'm going on week 5 post-op , I'm back on solid foods and with Thanksgiving being a few days away i'm very nervous. my 1st fill is'nt until Dec. 1st and i think when i go back i will have gained some of my weight back (so embarrassing). i have not went near a scale in about 2 weeks because i'm afraid of what it's going to read:thumbdown:. Since i've been back to work it's been hard trying to keep up with the work out i use to have. and stressful because i don't have the restriction like i use to and can eat like i use to before the surgery...uuuggghhhh . Plus being on liquids for soo long you build up this desire and urge just to chew something. i don't want to get trapped back into satisfying that urge. i was so determined and focused when i was on my pre-op diet but can't seem to find it again like i use to have it...just uuuugggghhhh:cursing:, uuugggghhh:cursing:, and double uuuggghhh:cursing: !!!!! I Wish everyone a HappyThanksgiving, i'm still Hopeful,Thankful and Blessed because i know i will never put back on all 28lbs. and once i get my fill it's over ! i also Know that i'm not alone and someone out there has been or is going through the same thing i am ! KarenK 0 Posted November 25, 2008 my 1st fill is'nt until Dec. 1st and i think when i go back i will have gained some of my weight back (so embarrassing). And if you do, you won't be at all unusual. I wish my doctors had told me ahead of time that when you start adding real food back in it's possible to not lose or to gain a little weight. I beat myself up quite a bit over that! I'm doing quite well now - losing slower but steady. Learning the hard way to undo a lifetime of eating fast - dang, that hurts when something gets stuck! I'm learning to love the gym. It's "me" time I get so seldom. I go 3-4 times a week and do 30 minutes on the treadmill, 30 minutes of strength, and 15 minutes on the elliptical. Of course, it helps that every machine has a television attached so I don't miss anything important (like Dancing with the Stars or something). Good luck to everyone this Thanksgiving. Eat smart and we'll all make it through intact!
NormaRae 0 Posted November 25, 2008 I am a bit nervous about Thanksgiving too. I bet most of us are. I am trying to prepare myself for what I will allow myself to eat. I plan to stay busy and concentrate on serving and picking up and visiting with my guests. I have had one fill of 3cc but I know I am ready for another. Thank goodness that will happen prior to Christmas. I am still losing but more slowly but I am really working hard at not eating all I would like to eat. I am not so sure of holding on to that for Thanksgiving (pig-out) day. Please, if anyone has some Thanksgiving day strategy, share it with us.
