maleliz777 0 Posted August 22, 2008 How long did the extreme soreness in your mid-section last after surgery? Thats the part thats killing me along with I think my gas is trapped in that area too. It never reached my shoulders. Also, my pantlett says that after 2-3 days after surgery to try pudding, yogurt and applesauce. Am I the only one getting into this quickly. Roheryn 0 Posted August 22, 2008 The physio today said that the gas gets trapped in your diaphragm area and that the shoulder pain is usually a referred pain from the gas being trapped in the diapraghm. Having not had the surgery, I don't know how long it will last but I think there will be differences depending on peoples ability to get up and walk and the amount of time it takes for your body to reabsorb that gas and get rid of it and how much was left behind post surgery!!! EVERY surgeon prescribes a different diet regimen for before and after surgery. Follow your doctor's instructions ONLY! It is really important that you adhere to what your surgeon requires rather than comparing your diet with others.

Cathrine Ray 0 Posted August 22, 2008 Hi I was banded 22 days ago. No problems at all. I now really don't feel anything at all. The only time I feel my port is when I ride in a car.. I also feel it when I walk real fast. But nothing to complain about.. I named my port. Abby. Made it a little more me....
Shamrockgirl60 1 Posted August 22, 2008 Wow I was banded 3 weeks ago and just starting to eat pureed fruit, applesauce, and yogurt and cottage cheese and ricotta. I am not one bit hungry which is very strange for me. My port is a tad sore, not much I also only feel it in the car going over rough roads and those annoying speed bumps. Just do what your doctor wants. Mine wanted 5 weeks before eating real foods. good luck take care Pati
gilta 0 Posted August 22, 2008 Yes, every MD is different. I am also on the wait 3 weeks before adding in new foods. I am up to cottage cheese, cream Soup, and that sort of consistency. My pain in my shoulder is just now starting to fad and I am 3 weeks out. If I eat too much or too fast I notice it quicker. I guess it is a good signal to stop.
