Doberman 0 Posted August 21, 2008 Actually banded 04/29. Had my 1st fill on June 11 and weight has stayed the same at 330. I cashed out a 401K and paid cash cause I figured if I didn't do it I would not be around to spend it the way I was gaining weight and picking up diabetes and joint problems. Cash got me in and out in 30 days. I'm 47 and retired USAF. Recently got laid off and know that if I don't lose some pounds I will not be able to find a decent job. Have two grown sons, 2 dobermans and a greyhound. I use this board for support.
2GoodDogs 6 Posted August 22, 2008 Hi Doberman, I'm a Sheltie lover myself with an older Flat Coat Retriever that is as comfortable as my worn out stretch pants... :cursing: How many fills have you had, and is it that you don't feel any restriction or have you not changed to a low fat-low sugar food plan? You've got too much invested in this to fail, what do you think you need to start over or get back on the weight loss track. Do you walk or exercise?

Just 1 fill my doc was too busy to even get an appt for a fill so tommorow am trying a Fill Center which is in town. I have 3 cc in a 10 cc band w/no restriction. I do low fat and keep active around the place. My yard is a tropical jungle with acreage that must be reclaimed weekly-Ha Ha. The Dogs keep the trails open. My riding mower died (3 wk repair est)so I expect to be getting a lot of use out of my walk behind stby mower.
2GoodDogs 6 Posted August 22, 2008 I'm sort of where you are. 1 fill that didn't do anything for me. I've even gained a pound or two, and I'm hungry and eating more than I'd like. Looking forward to the next fill, but that's 4 weeks away. Trying hard to eat on the South Beach plan, avoid eating out - and like you have a jungle to tame. Dam blasted mower, I couldn't start it so junked it and bought an electric. Can start that one, but man that electric cord is a pain... Maybe I should trade the dogs for goats. LOL... Doberman 0 Posted August 25, 2008 One thing that I do is not to weigh myself daily-too depressing. I weigh myself every Sunday and I do it in the morning before any fluids or meals then I get an accurate reading on how depressed to be-Ha Ha! Also I do it in night clothes so it is always the same. If you wait until after noon and meals etc there can be a lot of flux but for me standardization works. Also went to a fill center and found out I had no fill in me, the Doc missed the mark so the nurse put 5 cc in. Can't wait to see how much a difference a month makes. She also did it by Floroscope. I thought about goats too and then found out you had to have em in pairs and then I though they'd eat my well pump.
2GoodDogs 6 Posted August 25, 2008 Wow, you mean they can miss! So glad that you have a real fill now, hope that your frustration goes bye-bye! I walked the dogs today, made it almost 2 miles and didn't get winded!
