What kind of razor do you use?

Recommended Posts

I'm so tired of buying razors that constantly nik my legs. What do you use? I have to shave everyday so I'm not sure that those creams will work. I've tried different shaving creams to go along with these razors!!

I haev bought both expensive and generic and nothing works.

I actually use a men's razor. Mach 3 I believe. I am highly allergic to shaving cream so I have tried everything as well. What seems to work the best for me is called coochy cream it is a shaving cream from athenas home novelties. It's the best.

The creams work, but they STINK. Yuck. Even if they claim to smell like a fresh meadow full of daisies in full bloom with a chocolate cake in te middle, it doesn't. Don't go hunting, just open the window and embrace the smelliness.

I've found that I really like that new Venus razor that has the shaving gel in it- the Breeze. It's simple and I don't get nicks because it automatically adds a layer of skin protection before I shave an area.

I use the ladies Quattro (sp?). At the moment I can't think who makes it. I also use hair conditioner rather than shaving cream and it leaves your skin silky smooth.

I second coochy cream. I love that stuff.

I thought I was the only one who did that! But it is so much cheaper than shaving cream and does the job. As for my razor, I use DH's mach 3

i use the intuition?? is that the one with the shave bar around the razor. i love it, i can shave my legs, and my "personal" all in about 2 minutes..if even that. no shaving rash either.

the refill cartridges are expensive though.

I use intuition as well and love, love, love it! I'm really lazy when it comes to shaving so this is perfect for me! No creams, gels just pick it up and start shaving!

I use Shampoo on my legs, seems almost ironic, lol. But with my hair, I don't spend much on shampoo, the conditioner is where I put my money. Therefore I don't want to use the expensive conditioner on my legs. Then I use olay for all over body wash.

For razor, I dated a bodybuilder (who got me interested in it for a while, best shape of my life, until I fell back into depression) he suggested the Mach 3. It is awesome! I've never been nicked since using it. I use it even in intimate areas.

having had major cellulitus problems in the past I am not allowed to shave my legs add to that diabetes and any kind of grooming that could cause injury I am told to avoid.

So I started looking for alternatives to shaving 13 years ago when told this by my dr.

99% odf the cream *hair removers* are a joke. they work somewhat but usually take 2-3 applications which can be really damaging to the skin.

The only 2 that I found I can use with any reliability is surgi cream and I ONLY buy it when I can't get my favorite Magic shave. Magic shave is really awesome but hard to find its a product that is sold where you find products for (No insult intended I never know what terms are PC) black/african american peoples hair products. I find it at the local dollar store. But its often out of stock. So when I can catch it I buy 2-3 tubes.

Comes in 2 strenghts doesnt stink as bad as most other products and really works well. I can even use it in the bikini area without it burning my skin.

My BF who has REALLY Sensitive skin has done a spot test on his face with good results but has yet to try it. If he lets his facial hair grow o ut for 2 days or more (Like not shaving on a 3 day weekend) His face will break out and ooze almost like blister Patches. So he is really carefull about what he puts on his skin and he HAS to shave every day to avoid this..

I use Magic Shave powder on my girly bits and it works fab. Otherwise, I use the Schick Quattro or my dh's Mach 3.

How long does the hair stay gone? I have bought that for my DH. They have one specifically for bald styles. He shaves his head once a week to hide that he is going bald. He wouldn't try it.:) I may take it and try it on my legs.

Do you get any type of rash from using it? I haven't found a way to get rid of hair on my girly bits without getting awful hair bumps. I've tried shaving and even a hair cream that was supposedly just for the bikini area. :)

slim, if you shave it regularly and use a sharp razor, you'll avoid the bumps. Using shaving cream or a heavy conditioner helps, too. That coochie stuff everyone raves about it just a heavy conditioner. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
