 House lease is signed and deposit is paid!!

Wooooo hoooooooooo!!

YAY YAY YAY!!!

The only bad thing about deciding so far in advance is the wait! I want to already be discussing what we need to bring, where we are meeting, etc... etc... LOL!

I put info on the Google sheet, but I haven't booked yet. I want to wait and see if the schedule works out the best. I would like to book in January so hopefully we'll have things nailed down by then.

Ok.. sooooooo what should we bring and where are we going?? Haydee... can't ever plan too soon!!!!

I'm tracking flights & costs on Kayak... right now it's like $375 for 1-stop, up to $700 for nonstop!! And Judy, several of my options make the 1 stop in DETROIT! So it'll be awhile before I fill in the spreadsheet...

Oh, and I'm tracking both Fri - Mon AND Thurs - Mon rates... so don't count me out completely on a Thurs arrival... we'll just have to wait & see...

Michelle, I'm looking at leaving from Saginaw and having one stop in Detroit, same with the return trip unless I take one that stops in Memphis and then Detroit to Saginaw on the way back. No concrete decisions yet.

Wouldn't it be lovely if we didn't have to change planes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh............I thought you were driving??:smile2:

I mean everyone in general, it seems like everyone has to change planes somewhere to get to Huntsville. St. Louis used to be a hub so we could virtually go anywhere without having to change planes, not true anymore.

I probably will drive, but not for certain, thought I would see how much it would cost me to rent a bigger car and wow!!! I always rent the tiniest (cheapest) and it is expensive!! It would be cheaper to fly. My car is 9 years old, runs fine, but.......

I figure a lot can happen in 10 months so I will wait until March or so to decide what to do, just looking at options for cost estimates!

Oh yeah, welcome to Huntsville.. Remember how I told you it's only 1 terminal with like 10 gates? I can never directly fly anywhere, I always stop at Atlanta, somewhere in Texas, or Nashville...90% of the time is Atlanta though.

For a year, they did non-stop flights to NYC, because we have a lot of business/Nasa/government stuff in town so they were trying to be nice to the businessmen, but it didn't generate enough interest.

We fly direct from Houston!! Yea!!!

Jane - if you rent a car, we'll split the cost with you if you pick us up from the airport. Why not? Full size was about $30/day with one company ...Alamo maybe?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
