Hi gals

i'm excited...

I am going to have to get info on Dylan's moving up ceremony, they have missed so much school it might be on the 25th. the only thing that will change is my arrival time - but worst case if i can't come in Thursday night - I'm still in for paying for my commitment

Haydee/Tracy - I'm not paying for my airfare this month just because it's not in my January budget and I don't use credit cards anymore! $305 sounds like a fair price, though. I'll purchase in Feb or March probably.

Haydee - if you don't mind driving in AL and renting the car, that'd be awesome. I did see Alamo full size for $15/day. you won't find a cheaper deal than that. Cost to cancel is $0, so might as well reserve at that price now!

I have no idea if it's cheaper, but Enterprise on Madison Blvd/Hwy 20 is outside of the airport (between airport & my house), so if they're cheaper (although $15 a day is pretty dang cheap!) they're worth checking out.

$305 sounds about right, when I flew to TX it was about $300.

I checked and Alamo was the cheapest. I don't know how they do it??? I hope we don't end up driving in a hoop-dee

Probably because not a lot of people travel to H'ville these days with the economy. We're a business hub, people come for NASA & the Arsenal.. but with layoffs and cutbacks, etc.. people probably aren't sending their businessmen here as much, and so the rental cars are desperate for some business..

Although I should say, our little bitty airport (which is very clean and nice, compared to any I've been to--and no puke piles!!) they just passed approval for 65 million in renovations. I can't even imagine what that means.. when you see it, you'll understand!

I found 1 flight, but leaves early on 25th and gets in at 9:30am for $158 on Delta

The great flight that works for me is $308 + so that does sound right

I am going to reserve a car too

Terry - no more credit cards for me either, I'm paying off what i have with my refund and i'm done... never again

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
