Missy0224 6 Posted March 25, 2009 I've taken several diet pills in my day. Ephedra mostly. I'm used to that shaky feeling. My band is filled to the max and I'm not dialated. I can eat anything. I never get stuck or throw up.
Jaffa 5 Posted March 25, 2009 Man, that sucks. Just recently on another thread, it was discussed as to whether someone has ever gotten to the max of their band. Many doctors claim it has never happened to them that a patient has made it to the max. How do you know your at the max? Do they take it out and put it back in, or do they just add it up? I'm asking because I have just never heard of anyone actually maxing out? But I have heard of people with leaks that keep them from retaining a fill? Did the doctor tell you that your maxed out, and how did he or she know?
Missy0224 6 Posted March 25, 2009 I have never had a leak. I've gone to 2 different fill doctors and they both have told me I'm filled to the max. Actually I'm at 4.25cc in a 4 cc band. The elasticity of the band allows you to have more fill than it's made for. I just haven't been back because the 2nd doctor was very negative towards me and told me I would never lose more than 100 lbs and it really upset me. I've known several people who have lost more but the trick is keeping it off. That's the hardest part ever.
babygrl1234 6 Posted March 27, 2009 Missy have you had them unfill you and then fill you back up? I only ask because I went in for a fill once (2.5cc to 2.75cc) and when he pulled all the Fluid out and put it back in with more, it somehow never made it to my band. I was compeltely empty. I could eat anything and when I went in a few weeks later we found out that there was no Fluid in my band. He then gave me a fill back to the original 2.5cc and I was tighter than I was before at 2.5cc. I think that maybe it was because when the fluid went back in the folds of my stomach within the band reconfigured a little bit differently causing a smaller opening. And yes the keeping it off is definitely the hardest.
