Please send a Prayer

Recommended Posts

Oh my god, how tragic this story is. Did you read up a ways where she copied and pasted an article about the risks? Unreal. :(

My heart just breaks thinking of her and her 4-y.o. boy who I know would rather have had a fat but healthy mom than this wreck of a skinny mini. My thoughts and hopes go out to them for peace and a good resolution.

OMG How awful for her. I read all the way to the end when she posted most recently. That is exactly why I chose the band. I'm praying too. Teresa

I just don't even know what to say. I'm so sorry and will be praying.

I'm gonna go hug my kids.

And I'm gonna EAT something! With sugar and Fat and thank Almighty God for my Band and my healthy body. My God, I wouldn't lose another pound if it meant living like that. I am blown away and so sorry.

Thanks for the link, Mary.

It definitely makes you stop and count your blessings... complaints about this fill or that fill... PB's...slow weight loss...complications -- all just seems so petty in the face of what she's dealing with...

Prayers for Jessica and her family...

Elizabeth

You're so right Elizabeth..we all need to count our blessings. This sweet lady just wanted what we all want, and she got a nightmare, instead. This keep her and her family in our prayers, and keep following her progress as well.

Still waiting for my band....

I'm in tears. I'm so so sorry for everytime I whined that my band was a little too tight or a little too loose or a little too anything. How lucky most of us really are...

After reading her story, my complaining about anything is ridiculous. She has been through more in her life than most anyone her age, and I am so sad for that. She is in my prayers.

Also, she said that she is looking for a live liver donor. How does that work and how do they know if they have a match? I would be willing to do that to save a life, no question. But it might only be for family...I know nothing about it...

She is in my prayers. I also called my Grandmother last night, she has one of the closest links to the Man Upstairs of anyone I know so Ms. Jessica is now also on her prayer list and that of her church.. God bless this poor woman and her family. Thank you for letting us know about her.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
