Hey all!

I'm 19 and completed my first appt at Weight Loss Surgical Center in Kansas City on 8/14/08 and am just waiting to hear back from them. Did anyone else go through them?

During my first appt, they seemed really on top of things but when I called today, my claim hadn't even been submitted! Then, over the phone I was told that my claim through TriWest Tricare Standard would be submitted electronically, then I was told it would be submitted via snail mail today.

Egh, I just don't want to start getting the runaround already.....

Hello fellow Kansan, I went through them but I was self pay. they seemed on top of things to me too. But on thier defense it could be the Insurance company that is draggin their feet. I wish you all the luck inthe world they took very good care of me afterwards. Very strict on the getting up and walk after surgery I was mad but not at them LOL!!!:wink2:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
