Yeah I had a couple of really rough days. What kind of diet are you on?

Maybe switch the kind of Protein powder you are using, I found out a week after surgery and lots of weakness and nausea that I have to change from whey Protein to soy and now in my third week following surgery feeling pretty good, the headaches were from caffeine withdrawal. They are gone now. Felling a bit stronger. It will take time, I am almost 3 weeks out of surgery and finally feeling more like my old self only a bit thinner.

Good luck

Caffeine withdrawal can really make you feel bad if that could be an issue.

You have already made it to the halfway point. It is rough going, but you don't have much further to go. Why don't you give the doctor's office a call and see what they suggest? Good luck with everything.

Are you not allowed caffine on the pre-op diet?

Yikes :wink2:

Ask your doctor but many say no caffeine. It is a stimulant and can stimulate your appetite which you especially don't want when you are having to follow such a strict diet pre-op and post-op.

Most will say no caffeine for at least a few months after surgery because it can irritate your stomach. Some say no caffeine ever again.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
