Lap band at 0730 tomorrow morning!

Recommended Posts

Hello all you fellow lap banders!

I have read many of your posts over the last couple of weeks and finally decided to join today! Seems like a great place for both support and to get answers from fellow lapbanders!

Well, I have to admit, my lapband surgery is tomorrow and Im finally scared. I've been so excited for so long and now Im scared. I know that's normal though as many of you have probably gone through that phase!

Wish me luck!

Hey Disneyland -

Best of luck with your surgery tomorrow! Post again when you can and let us know how you're doing.

You will find your weight loss fast in the beginning, then it will slow down, but don't get discouraged. You'll see from reading posts here that it's normal. Some people keep loosing fast, some don't, just remember that we're all different.

I had one week of a pre-op diet where I lost 10# and the rest has been seen by banding date, but I've included all in my weight loss ticker.

Just follow the eating plan that you're doctor gives you and try not to stray from it too much, and you'll be succesful! Best of luck!

Good luck tomorrow. Nerves are just part of having this procedure done. You wouldn't be normal if you didn't have atleast the slighest fear. I'm having mine done tomorrow also and I have little butterflies circling around in my tummy also. I'm sure everything will go just fine.

Best of luck to you!!

Hi Disney,

I am also getting banded tomorrow... and I am also nervous. I joined this site in June when I first starting looking into getting the band and I have to say it has been of great help. Everyone is very friendly and always willing to give their support.

Here is to us the up coming members of the August All Stars...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
