I was banded two days ago in Richmond at St Marys Hospital. I am feeling great. It has been much easier than I thought. I have been walking at least 3 times a day for about 10 minutes or so each time and that has helped alot with gas. I have only taken my pain meds to sleep, not necessarily for pain. When will your surgery be in greensboro? Why are you choosing to go out of state??

Hey there Im from Va was just banded in Charlottesville Va on August 12th by Dr. Michael Trahan....It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be...Im still on liquids and I am actually down 17lbs from the morning of surgery. Im sure its all Water weight but thats ok Ill take it any way I can get it......The gas was bad, I also had a hiatal hernia repair so I think maybe some of my pain had to do with that also....Good luck with your band....

The city that I live in - Martinsville - doesn't do the surgery. I could have went to Roanoke, but they wanted you to be on a diet for 6 months. I have been on a diet all my adult life and didn't want to wait another 6 months.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
