I posted earlier, and now am just about pain free, No gas and my port is just a bit sore. I do tire easily and just don't overdo it. Most of my discomfort was from the gas and the fact I found out I was allergic to whey Protein, I sent back my case of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury shake mix for a full refund. Thank heavens, using the ESA soy chocolate shake, and the soy unflavored Protein powder I use it in the blended Soups and it works great. My nausea is gone, and no more "trots" LOL. 100% better than last week. I figure in a week or so I will feel pretty much normal.

I was so mad after I had my surgery and I was in so much pain. I actually made a post at that time thinking I was the only one experiencing any pain, because every blog and story I've read, everyone is "oh, just a little sore, but I'm doing okay" yadda yadda. I was shocked at how much pain I was actually in, and liquid Tylenol didn't do a darn thing! Same as some other people in this thread, I was in pretty bad pain for about a week. And my doctor refused to give me any pain meds after I left the hospital

I am in the same boat as Misti. It was my first surgery, first time being under, and i was also pleasantly surprised about how well I felt afterwards. Honestly piercing my tongue hurt worse. lol But I just got the liquid hydrocodine and from previous experince, I didn't even waste my time taking it. I had a fantastic surgeon who is pretty famous for other surgeries he has performed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
