I ache a bit after fill

Recommended Posts

Just curious if feeling a bit sore after a fill is normal. My doctor had some trouble and was pushing around the port area to find the place he needed to go in and I noticed after 2 days feeling a bit achy in the area. Also.. my throat area was a little sore.

But all in all still feeling great, banded 6/22/08 lost 38 pounds :biggrin2:

are you eating ok ? you said your throat feels sore ? are things going down ok ?

As for the port area , My doc has to push on my stomach a little to find my port w/ his hand before he sticks me and it can leave me feeling a little sore.

I generally dont feel well at all after my fills. I usualy spend that evening in bed. But that's Just me because i get Migraines really bad and any change to my "system" affects me . So that's from that not the "fill "itself.

But yes i think its normal to feel a bit sore .

I'm always a bit sore after a fill, and I bruise very easily, so I also sport a bruise the size of a quarter for a week or more sometimes. I've noticed that if my colon in full from Constipation, my port smarts a bit then too. It's so wierd. It goes away immediately after elimination. If I work out to vigorously on my abs at the health club, it will be sore for days. It's just a fickle, tender spot.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
