Implants rupturing

Recommended Posts

How do implants rupture? if hit in the breast? does one boob suddenly deflate and is a different size? how long do implants normally last 15/20 years? how do you know they need replacing? is it the same expense again ?I am in Australia.

The chances of an implant rupturing is very, very, very slim. They are made much better than they used to be. And even with the old ones, you had to have some serious breast trauma to cause a rupture (ie: your implant wouldn't rupture if you ran into the corner of you bureau drawers with your breast, but it might if you were in a car wreck and your airbag deployed). Silicone implants last ~7-12 years and saline ones last longer. But the problem with saline implants is that they can harbor bacteria- which can be a big problem if they rupture. If they rupture, generally the maker of the implants will pay to replace them, but if they're just breaking down from wear and tear, my understanding is that it costs the same(ish) as a regular augmentation.

Hi. The implants rupture most commonly from folds or ripples that rub on each other, so the rate of rupture is much higher if you have capsular contracture, which "squishes" the implant and causes folds.

The chance of rupture on most implants is around 7% at 7 years, so it's overall low.

Rupture for most reasons will get you a lifetime replacement from the 2 major companies, and they will pay amounts towards surgery and anesthesia too.

I wouldn't say so much explode...

Its more like a flat tire...:wink2:

 LOL

LOL at both of you  -- too funny!

Nina girl you need to push past this!!! Not only did my nips not fall off, but they have been restored to their former youthful glory. I love my new breasts and everything about them, and I started my PS journey not even wanting to have the breasts done!

If you want new breasts lady, go for it!!! Dr. P will not let you down -- just remember that.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
