Can too much water at once hurt you?

Recommended Posts

okay guys and gals...i hate to be the newbie asking so many questions but i'm not sure who else to ask about these things.

I'm on the liquid stage of my post op (5 wks, but does include watered down oatmeal, beans..etc). Anyway, I was banded on the 8th of Aug. and just started feeling better yesterday. Since then I've been eating my 3 two ounce meals a day and sipping Water, but I've been starving! Tonight I just drank a bottle of water in less than an hour...will that much water that fast "stretch" or hurt things?

Again, sorry for the silly questions, but thanks for the help!

It is extremely hard to stretch your pouch on liquids...they flow right through the band, unobstructed unless you are extremely too tight.

That's great to hear, because I was wondering the same thing. I wasn't sure because my nutritionist just said not to gulp or chug, so I was confused! She said to just take sips, but then I was feeling thirsty! So I'm glad that you asked this question for us!

Well, I guess it all depends. My doctor told me no more than 4 oz in an hour. I am having a really hard time getting my fluids in. (I am only 6 days out from my lapband) I have no appetite for annnytthing.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
