New to LapBandTalk!

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I'm new to LapBandTalk. I live in Idaho, and I am planning on having lapband surgery sometime in September. I've finished all the requirements, and I am now waiting on the insurance company to do their thing.

What was the HARDEST thing for you about the surgery? (before, during, after, etc?)

I'm really nervous, and I have about talked myself out of it a million times. I guess I need people to tell me it's worth it and why!

:tongue_smilie:

#1...Welcome to you from a fellow Idahoan!!!

#2....It is more worth it than words can say. When you can live your life again and not have to watch all the fun things your family does....and knowing you will be able to watch your family finish growing up....priceless...

I grew up in St. Anthony!!! My parents still live there!!! Good luck....

You grew up in St. Anthony? Where? Tell me details, maybe we know each other, or know some of the same people! Your slide show is amazing! I can't even imagine. I had to realize that I am truly addicted to food. How am I going to do this!?

Welcome! You will find a lot of very useful information here as well as a lot of support from people that know exactly what you are going through!

I am newly banded and I am so happy I have had this done! I agree with Deanna, this is an opportunity to lose the weight and get to do the things you have always wanted to do, to not have to watch life from the sidelines. Number one is knowing that you will be healthy and be around to watch your children grow up and to grow old with your spouse! I don't want to miss that!

A couple of weeks ago I also realized that I was losing this weight for the last time! I don't have to lose and gain, lose and gain. The weight will be gone forever! It does take a lot work and I know that, but I am at a point where I want to get healthy and get my life back!

Good luck to you with your decision, I vote Lapband!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
