1 year bandiversary today

Recommended Posts

Hello All:

I have not posted in a really long time but I wanted to say that I am happy and although I would have lost a lot more if not for the ice cream bad habit, I have to say that I am so glad i had my surgery. I am trying to post pictures of the day of my surgery and what I look like today but never mind that... its the way that I feel that is important right now and... needless to say, aside from the occassional self inflicted pb, I am doing awesome.

Keep on trucking people!

best,

Nilsa:thumbup:

Nilsa 52 pounds in a year is an awesome place to be! My doctor said to expect to lose a pound or two a week and judging by that formula you are right on track.

Congratulations!

You guys are doing really well it will be my one year aniversary of the band on 18sep , i got to watch the oerdoing it on nuts and cheeses, its the night time that gets me after a hectic day, but i have lost 84lbs, and have 14lbs to go, wow hoping to get there by aniversary, but havent been excercising lately as well, but as long as we eventually get there we are all heading in the right direction, and certain we are all starting to look sexy, if not sexier now, we going to make it, and we never going to get fat ever ever again --- oh except if one of you guys gets pregnant, then only momentarily. keep on going ----- down down down we go with the weight, what did you guys get to remember how far you have come?? i am going to buy a piece of jewllery, gosh doesnt time fly, especially when you start feeling good about yourself?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
