Seminar tonight!!!!

Recommended Posts

Tonight is the Free Seminar in Biddeford, Maine! This is where we (my cousin and I) fill out the application that the surgeon reviews to see if you qualify for the sugery. We also are attending our first bariatric surgery support group after the seminar. I am so excited and at the same time so nervous,:crying: I have the worst luck of anyone in the world. So, when I hope for something good I get sick to my stomach:crying: because it almost never works out for me. I will post back again when if I hear anything from the surgeon later this week or next week.

Wish me luck.

Oh hun, good luck. I understand your concerns and I was physically ill before I went to my seminar, and didn't even realize I was going to "start my chart" that night! lol I was more worried about driving in downtown Nashville, and getting there and back, being the fattest in the room, etc, etc. Now, all my fears were unfounded and I felt immensly better after, so, relax now! I had my seminar about 3 weeks ago. My biggest hurdle (and I did go over it in flying colors!) was contacting/talking to/convincing my PCP that I needed this surgery. He agreed and I began my 6 month diet last week! yay! Breathe, you will be fine, and you will be approved!

I am excited for you. I went to the free seminar held at Jupiter Medical Center here and learned a lot at the seminar. The surgeon was a very nice guy and really did very well with tell all of us about the different surgeries. He had a client in there also who talked about his experience and they both answered peoples questions. If anything I would say that seminar just help solidify my decision to move forward with this.

I hope you go and leave with a sense of accomplishment and look forward to taking the next step towards a better life.:Banane37:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
