2nd week banded not sure if I feel full

Recommended Posts

I was banded Aug 5th and for the first week I had nothing but Jello and watered down cranberry juice and crystal light. and week 2 I am eating mushy foods. I feel gross and fat. I don't know if I am full I don't know if it's my mind telling me I am suppose to eat more. I eat how my diet sheet says, but I don't feel full. Or is it my mind telling me I am suppose still be eating....I am so confused on how you know please if anyone knows I am in my 2nd week. Part of me feels like is there a band in there. I feel the port and it is still sore and swollen....I just don't feel like I am full. I only eat what I am suppse to eat...because I am afraid to eat any more , then I might stretch my band I don't know. Please if anyone is out there?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused2:

HI Lisa

I was banded the 5th too. I am feeling the same way. So I eat a little and wait. If I am still hungry, I eat a little more. I have an appointment on Friday and hope to get some answers. I keep reminding myself, this time is about healing, not weight loss......

Hello. I was also banded on Aug. 5 but i feel great. Just make sure you are getting in your Protein Shakes & water&&&&&&&&& walking. All of that seems to help me out alot. Good luck!:whatchutalkingabout

I had a light bulb moment about a month after my surgery. the only full i knew was the completely satisfied full like I couldn't eat anymore. Now I know full is when you are no longer hungry, not when you feel the heaviness in your stomach, you aren't going to feel that anymore so listen to your body and it will tell you when you are not hungry, not necessarily when you are full.

I guess this is something I have to learn.....I guess I am waiting for that full feeling I use to get and then be uncomfortable. I don't ever want to feel that way again. I'm not over eating or anything I just hope I am doing everything right. I am afraid to over do it...I don't like to vomit. I hate it and I want to do everything right and stay healthy, I want to lose weight. I think I have a fear that I will be the one that the Lapband doesn't work on. lol I don't know.

I am still sore were my port is and the swelling has gone down allot, but it's still swollen slightly. I have been walking around the house and stuff but I haven't taken any walks yet. I go today to the doctors at 2 pm so I'll know more on whats going on. Thanks for everyones messages I need it, thank you so much

Lisa

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
