Three months out...

Recommended Posts

I just had .5cc put in my band today. I felt disappointed because I only lost 2oz from my last appointment in July. I have had a good amount of weight loss until I discovered how easily sugary, high calorie foods go done. I am hopeful my fill today will help me get back on track-especially because I am on a liquid diet for the next two days.

For what it´s worth...

Recently on Bob site (the trainer from the Biggest Loser) said eating late or snacking late was OK, if the snack was Protein. That it would jump start your metabolism as you sleep.

Interesting, however snacking late then lying down to sleep may not be good if digesting still going on. I would most likely have a problem making a wise snacking choice later in the evening. Let me know if you try it.

I'm feeling a bit frustrated too Tonja. It´s like I´ve been fooling with the same 4 pounds for a month. GRRR. I have lost an inch in my thighs though in the past month.

Well ladies, I'm right there with you....frustrated!!! I am making good food choices, going to the gym 5 days per week and am STUCK!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to remain positive. :cool2: I'm thinking that this weight that I'm stuck at might be one of my "set" points (a weight that I have always been stuck on). I need to just keep doing what I am doing and WAIT (not easy for me).

I have had 4 fills in a 5cc band... I do feel restriction, but maybe I need more!!! :)

Best to all of you!! We didn't gain the weight overnight so it won't come off that way......

im feeling the same way, i just had to tell my self, i made it this far, do as the doctor says do as much walking and other activity as i can that my body can handle and not worry about other things and stop comparing my self to others that can cause serious depression and as of this day im 2 pounds away from reaching my 1st goal (250) just tell your self one day at a time. it will come off in due time, good luck and god bless!

Remember!!!

When stuck at not losing, be sure to mix-up your exercise routine to re-jumpstart your body! And check your regular carb intake (white potatoes...) against your complex carbs. Protein and complex are good mixes.

Well, I´m making some changes. Gonna do a food journal. That seems to make me more aware. The past three weeks I´ve been doing 2 Exercise DVDs and walking, 5 out of the 7 days, so if nothing else, wow am I feeling STRONG!

Had my first PB the other day. Had a Protein shake for Breakfast, but then waited too long to eat, so I was starving hungry. I tried to eat a potato wedge (what an idiot!) and suffered for the next hour. UGH. Lesson learned.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
