dyingtotry 0 Posted August 12, 2008 Hi everyone, I am new to this board. It looks like there is some really good information. I am still in the process of making a decision to do the band or not. I am really afraid of the surgery and of failing. I went to the Doc and saw the band and did all the initial paperwork but cancelled the 1st appt to start the ball rolling. I am not one of those people who just "do" things. I have to know all the pros and cons and figure out a way to work thru them. Someone very close to me had the Band done in July and she is doing great. She is a very upbeat positive person and I tend to be the oposite. Any advice or information anyone has is greatly appreciated. It looks like everyone is very open and honest.
judeloren 0 Posted August 12, 2008 In my experience it is amazing... sometime i really do feel like i am failing because i was not really restricted until recently and even that is touch and go. The truth is though the weight is coming off and i didn't do very much to get there. it has been a very slow process and i have slipped up many times but i am still going down and it is wonderful. I am so glad i did it.
Brandy~ 2 Posted August 12, 2008 It is a life changing experience. However, for me it's definetly for the best. If you're unsure just take your time researching and reading of their success and if it may be the case their failure. The band is a tool... If you're motivated and willing to work for what you want you will lose the weight. The weight will come off without trying I am sure but very slowly. The more you work the band and exercise the greater potential it has.
