Stuffed feeling

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I have been reading this site for the past few months but this is my first post. I was banded on August 9th in Italy with Dr. Favaretti and Dr. Segato. They are awesome and I would recommend them to anyone. I was wondering how long this stuffed feeling will last. I ate a small yogurt and feel like I had a turkey dinner. I hear some people never need a fill as they feel enough restriction just being banded. My doctor told me I wouldn't need one for 3 months. My question is what are the odds I will stay with this restrictive feeling for 3 months? Anyone out there who has had one fill or less?

Also I was wondering how you make one of those count down charts so I can keep track of the weight loss. thanks:smile2:

Hi jasmine and Welcome!! I hear everyone is different as to their restriction and what they can eat, etc.

Only having had it done on the 9th, you will still be healing and probably have some swelling still and may already have some fill (Some docs already put in some fill whilst putting in the band). Lellow was done on 1 AUG 08 and she is I believe the first of us to have a fill in Early Sep 08. I think it really will be up to you as to when you think you'll need a fill.

Oh and as for the ticker, try this:

hi i was banded in germany, maybe its a over seas thing because my doc also said for me to wait 3 mth for fill. so far i have no issues, just trying to wrap my head around not eating so much, cause my eyes are way bigger then the stomach. So far, i don't really think i need one(fill) i am still steadily losing weight and i figure ill wait till that stops so i can jump start it again by the fill, i don't want my body to just get used to fills and stop you know. hope this helps. I go back end of sept. for another check up. Take care

i was done on the 1st august in the UK, have a constant feeling of being full, am having to virtually force myself to eat as im just not hungry. my surgeon also does his fills at around 8-12 weeks. i started mushies and was bit worried about the fact i might be hungry not and yes i am planning what i am going to have to eat, but only cos it takes a bit longer to prepare then just heating up Soup but i am not hungry at all.

went into town today and walked past mcdonalds!! yep walked past without going in, the smell didnt even bother me.

long may it continue, but i am the same as you jasmine, a bit worried it is going to last until a fill.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
