Will there be issues if you eat food to early?

Lisa,

Do you mean what symptoms happen or what do they do about it?

Symtoms depend on the type of slippage and range from Acid reflux to pain when eating and/or drinking to throwing up/nausea to no restriction.

Sometimes a unfill can fix the slippage and sometimes surgery is necessary.

Oh I am sorry I should have said I feel like I am not full I go to my doctors on the 17th of Sept and then they set up for my fill my first fill. I just am afraid I am doing something wrong. I am always hungry at work, I do follow how much I am to eat....but I never feel the full feeling and I always wonder is it still in there. I don't know I am nervous about it. I weigh my food out all the time, but I am eating now normal done with the food processor. But I still measure my food together....I am not to go over 1 cup and 1/2 but I don't go over 1 cup. I drink my shakes twice a day still sugar free Jello and pudding.....I have tasted brownies just a lick or two.....but I always think maybe I am eating too much and can the band slip then what happens....I think I am going nuts. lol I just can't wait to go get filled and feel full finally

I promise, you are just fine.

At one point or another most all of us have been through or are going through. Hopefully they will do a fluro for your first fill so that you can see for yourself that the band is just fine. Just don't get your expectations up too high for your first fill you may not really feel it until after a couple fills.

After surgery, my Dr. requires 24 hours on liquids, 2 weeks on pureed, 2 weeks on soft solid stage and after 1 month you may begin the regular stage. After a fill its liquid for 24 hours, pureed for 24 hrs, soft for 24 hours and back to regular. I was told by my nutritionist that I could buy Wendy's chili and puree it for my pureed stage and I have and it's delicious. She also said we can puree chicken salad.< /p>

After mine I had one week liquids....2-3 weeks mushy then 2-3 weeks on lumpy, but last week I slowly started just cutting food up really small and I have been fine. I guess I will find out about what I do for the fill

I notice allot of people on here are different with what each surgeon does.

He said by the time I come to see him for my appt which is in a week I should be eating regular. Which I have started, but really small, just not lumpy. Mostly veggies and shakes, mashed potato, eggs, Jello and pudding (sugar free) and some chicken and turkey.

It just makes me nuts not knowing whats going on insdie of me. But you helped allot and this website does allot I am so glad I came across it

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
