new bander two weeks post-op

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was banded on 7/28 and for the first week I wasn't really interested in looking at food because I was in such pain from gas. I stuck with Clear Liquids and my dr moved me on to mushies last Thursday. My question is this: Is scrambled eggs a mushie? What about tuna fish? I am still consuming about 500 calories a day in protien drinks and added a yogurt a day. The first week I lost 12 pounds, but haven't lost anything since then.:wink2: I think my body may think it is starving and its holding back. Is that possibe?:cool2:

Thanks!

Mushies are foods that are blended - I still have 2 weeks to get there! Just make sure you blend the food, combos until they are smooth, no lumps or bumps!

You can check out the mushie recipies on this site, some look yummy!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
