Claudine1975 0 Posted August 11, 2008 Today is my first day back at work since being banded on 8/01. I never realized all the pushing and pulling I did (I just have a desk job) so my port area is a little sore. BUT....I put on my nice pants this morning and the hardly fit me. I mean I have to make sure they are not going to fall as I walked down the hall. I can feel the sliding down. Holy Crap that was fast. I am going to have to get them altered pronto because I am not ready to be new clothes just yet. But what a NSV (non - scale victory)

Roheryn 0 Posted August 12, 2008 Yay Claudine!! That is cool! Did anyone at work know??
Claudine1975 0 Posted August 12, 2008 My co-workers noticed that I was tugging on my pants. It is obvious they do not fit me anymore. It feels good to have pants that are too big rather then too small.
shellyelise 0 Posted August 12, 2008 WTG Claudine! I went back to work yesterday and was banded on Friday the 8th, I too have a desk job which made it easy for me to return to work.
Roheryn 0 Posted August 12, 2008 Hehe so long as there are no moments Would a belt annoy the port sites?? I can understand the not wanting to waste too much money on clothes that might not fit for long!!
Claudine1975 0 Posted August 12, 2008 The dress pants don't have belt loops - so I have no choice but to get them altered. Hopefully they can last me until the end of winter.
shellyelise 0 Posted August 12, 2008 But that would not be a bad thing if they don't last, right? :biggrin2:
speck 1 Posted August 12, 2008 What does NSV stand for? TIA
tutornmom 1 Posted August 12, 2008 Cool! I will be banded on 8/22 and I need to work on 8/25 (First day of the Monday classes I teach) so this gives me encouragement.
Claudine1975 0 Posted August 12, 2008 NSV= Non scale Victory usually equates to your clothes getting bigger or you doing something you normally wouldn't do before banding.
pansymansy 0 Posted August 12, 2008 I'm so glad to hear of your success! Dr. Enochs did my band on 8/8 and I go back to work on Thursday...hopefully it won't be too bad. I can't wait for my NSVs to begin!
lellow 1,713 Posted August 13, 2008 WTG Claudine! I go back to work on Monday and haven't tried my work pants on yet, but am looking forward to it! Lol! No belt loops for me either, so it will be interesting. I wore my work skirt to work just before my op (when I'd lost about 4kgs) and as I walked it was twisting round without me being aware. It wasn't until I was just about to stand up to do a presentation that I realised my back seam and split was in the front! LOL! It'll be interesting now I've lost double that amount of weight. Kegra 0 Posted August 13, 2008 Lets resurrect an old fashion statement: suspenders! I think I still have my Mork and Mindy Rainbow suspenders somewhere. *wink*
jessicakolman 3 Posted August 15, 2008 I recently have looked for a surgeon to do my surgery. I work at REX and I've heard good things from the nurses. From what I hear Dr. Moran is not very personable. Dr. Enochs is much more then Dr. Moran. The OR manager I work with is going to do some investigating and find out more information. Previously, I was looking into Dr. Kenneth Mitchell Jr. in Pinehurst. However I learned that his mortality rate is 4% and that kind of freaks me out. I plan on attending the seminar next month. Anyone who has any thoughts specifially on Dr. Enochs, let me know!
