for the October bandsters to get started. I am planning to be banded on October 13th if all goes well. I have my psyc evaluation this week and am getting my 5 year weight history from Drs to send to the surgeon

. My BMI has to be 40 for 5 years and/or 100 lbs over ideal weight for five years I am not sure about #1, but am sure that I have been 100 over for the past five years so I should get approval easily. Once I get it all in I will keep you posted on my insurance approval hopefully it will come quickly, if not I will be calling a bugging them constantly.

:thumbup:Hey I like the idea of smashing pumpkins. I'm finishing up my 6 mo. diet and I hope to be banded in Oct. (if all goes well) I'm really excited but also nervous because it is so close. My 6 mo has went by fast. I had hope to do better with my weight loss before surgery but I have really struggled. Wish you all the very best.

Hello Friends ! Well, I am tentatively set for October...so hopefully I can join the group. My consult is September 10th with Dr Snyder in Denver, where I live. I'm a full-time college student and I run my own business online at home, I have been trying to get approved since March of this year, and I can't wait for my new life to begin. What does everyone else do?

I think Smashing Pumpkins is really cute! I will ask my friends in the chat what they think and report back...!

So i guess we are the Smashing Pumpkins! I like that as do many of you! SO....Welcome Smashing pumpkins!

We are a group that is determined to smash the pumpkins that we hold in ourselves in all shapes and sizes. We will become the oriental pumpkins soon enough!!! I can't wait to have mine done! I am reading a lot of things on here that are making me second guess...such as a flipping of ports or other complications. Are they really that common?

Have you read any books? I just got this book and it addressed a lot of fears and concerns I had:

Ahroni Ph.D. A. R. N. P.: Books[/ame]

And yay Smashing Pumpkins!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
