keona 2 Posted August 10, 2008 Hi All, So, since about a month after my early February surgery (and two fills to date) I have not been able to lose a single pound!!! But.... I am losing inches every month. Is this normal??I have another fill booked in September and I am worried that Dr. A will be like - why is your weight not changing..... why is my weight not changing?? I don't quite understand that? My total weight loss in 6 mos is only 25lbs.... In 6 mos I have lost 1" off chest, 4.5" off waist, 7" off hips and 1" off thigh... Is this to be considered normal? I thought the weight would come off more readily.......

aggie 0 Posted August 10, 2008 I was also banded on 22-08-08 and I also lost more cm than weight I have lost 30cm off my body and 14kgs which is 30lb I will be having my 4th fill on the 21-08-08 doctor said that he will put in 1/2 to 1cc. I have good restriction at the moment and he said that I should be right then I loose between 1/4 to 1/2 kilo a week doctor would like me to loose 1/2 to 1 kilo a week but I go to curves 5 days a week and have just stared doing cardio with weights 3 times a week. dont give up you are doing well. keep excercising and getting fills. talk to you soon. aggie
Froggi 4 Posted August 10, 2008 If you're losing inches then you're still loosing but probably gaining muscle weight. Keep up the good work and don't let the scale get you down!
muckstack 0 Posted August 10, 2008 THATS TOTALLY MY STORY TOO. TODAY IS MY ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY AND I HAVN'T LOST A POUND SINCE I STEPPED ON THE scale WHEN I GOT HOME. I LOST 14 LBS ON THE DIET BEFORE, AND 5 AFTER, BUT THE INCHES ARE COMING OFF. I WENT FROM A SIZE 24 TO A SIZE 20 IN A MONTH! AND I AM NOT EXERSIZING, BUT I AM ON THE GO, ALL DAY LONG. WEIRD! i AM GETING MY FIRST FILL SATURDAT TOO. I'M A BIT NERVOUS.
Del30 0 Posted August 11, 2008 I was wondering the same thing (is this normal). I have been banded 10 months and am only down 47 lbs. I only seem to lose weight the first week after a fill and then I get stuck at that weight until the next fill. My last fill was 3 months ago and I lost 13 lbs the first week after that fill and haven't lost any more. I went back last month to the DR to get a fill and he wouldn't fill me because he said that I was at least losing inches. I have pretty good restriction (6.8 cc in a 10 cc) but I think just a little more might help. I have gone from size 22 to a 16 but I really would like to see the scale move.:):confused2:
aggie 0 Posted August 11, 2008 Hi Del30, I think it is the norm Im just a slow looser I have to work very hard for the weight to come off that is why I have started cardio 3 times a week as well as going to curves 5 days a week. the main thing is not to give up hope and keep going I have gone from a size 20 to size 14 who cares if the scales move slowly. I think by loosing more inches the skin is getting tighter. Talk to you soon aggie
