glancerlm 0 Posted August 9, 2008 My surgery went very well, other than having to wait, wait, wait. I got to the hospital as instructed, at 9:30. I had to wait to get a "room" (curtained area), but then once I got there they quickly put me into pre-op area. Unfortunately, I was in there until about 12:30. They gave me a sedative but I still remembered going into the operating room, changing tables, those leg pump things on my legs, and then out. I woke up at 2. I had pain for about an hour and then was mainly just uncomfortable. Then I was in recovery for almost 3 hours. I got home about 6:45. It really hasn't been that bad, except I can't sleep. I'm a really light sleeper and the pain med. hasn't knocked me out. I also have gas pain - I think that's what it is, I've never really had gas before! Mostly I am excited and ready to start my new life. It really was not as painful or scary as I had feared. My parents were there and were supportive, esp. my Dad, who teased the nurses and kept telling me he was proud of me!
