Hi Im new too :) got my band on Aug 4th

I so should have come here BEFORE my surgery, but oh well here i am. Im 45 years old, married to a great man for 23 years.

Im a home school mom of five great kids. have gone back to work in the past year to put my son through college. i work in a hospital ER with awsome people, some who have had lap band surgery. They have been a huge encouragement to me. I have been so encouraged already through a rough day today (day four post op). I do a ton for everyone else, I given body and soul and now its my turn to take care of me. Cheers to my new, healthy body...........in progress

Hi,

I just got banded August 6th and I am miserable with the gas, bloating, and soreness. You said you had a miserable day. I hope this is gone in a couple of days. Was it for you?

Welcome to the board! This is a great place for info and support. I was banded Aug 5th. So far so good. I did have to have my bandages changed, the steri strips came off. The PA had me start some antibiotics just to be safe, the port incisions was looking a little irritated.

I am glad you are taking care of yourself - I have the same challenge, everyone is first and I am last. I am so glad to be taking care of myself and putting my health first. This is such an exciting journey, I am so glad to be banded and on my way!

congratulations! I am 2 months out and feeling great!!! I too work in a hospital, but not a lot of banders where i am from. I go to a support group meeting once per month, but they are all bypass patients. I am the only bander, but i'm making it
