Mita 2 Posted June 2, 2005 testing testing - could not post. (edited) Sorry could not post .. Anyway Good that you are on liquids today, Maybe you irritated you pouch yesterday by eating so soon. chicken is a no no for me because it causes me to PB but only certain types. My doc has me on Clear Liquids the day of the fill then onto solids the next day as tolerated. Hopefully by friday you will be feeling better.
paula 4 Posted June 2, 2005 Hi Sheri! Im agreeing with Mary - most of the time our "rule" is to go back to liquids for 24 hours following a fill, then mushy for another 24. Its an adjustment to the stomach, so there is likely swelling that occurs with this small procedure. For my last fill, I had to have liquids for 3 days, then introduce mushy's for a couple of more days THEN solids. Each fill is different. Each person is different. Just take it slow, and as long as you are able to keep liquids going, you *should* be fine. Also - if you feel the need to contact your surgeons office just to have a peace of mind - PLEASE - dont hesitate!
MeganA 35 Posted June 2, 2005 Don't panic! After my second fill I had lots of swelling and could barely drink Water. I even went in for a flouro to check it out and was told that everything looked fine, I probably was just really swollen. I was told to drink cream based Soups (cream is heavier than Water and flows through the stoma easier) and sip sip sip water all day long. It worked for me, and I've discovered after six fills that my stomach gets swollen every time, so I just make sure to take it easy and do liquids for at least two days if not three. If you cannot drink water at all, or get reflux at night that wakes you up- might be a good time to call your doctor. Otherwise, be patient and careful and you may find that you're fine in a few days. Best of luck Megan
nygrl 0 Posted June 2, 2005 thanks everyone...i am doing liquids today and i will try some mushies tomorrow..so far i am ok... no heartburn, just a little pity in my stomach... actually i feel very much like i did after surgery and that passed so hopefully this will too... wouldnt it be great to have really good restriction after just 1 fill! i hope that is the case.. thanks again for all the help;)
HarleyNana 10 Posted June 2, 2005 IMO, too much of a fill is worse than not enough restriction. It's unhealthy and your weight loss slows, because your body is holding onto every thing you put in, because it's so little. I put up with being too tight for a month and finally went back and he a bit taken out, OMG, what a relief that was and is. That was over a month ago, and I have no desire for a fill any time soon. I have the small band too, 4cc. Don't try to be a hero if it's too tight, get a little taken out so you can eat properly.
