I totally understand i got my surgery date yesterday after only 1 month and 3 1/2 weeks of dr appts and all the other stuff that you have to do. I can't believe it went so quickly and my insurance is paying for it. I will be banded on Aug 19th at 7:15 Am wooooohooooo.

I was screaming in the car after the dr appt. Two months and 9 days from my first dr appt inquiring about the lap band till the sugery date that has to be a record time!!!!!! I can't even think straight I am so excited!!! Good luck to you

I just got my letter of approval from the insurance yesterday. I have my educational thing Sept the 2nd. And I hope soon after that I get the lap band. I been on a long haul of trying to get this since Dec 07.. Man its taken forever! Too long in my book. But now that I am approved in all area's I am scared! lol.. I know.. but I have never had a skinny day in my life and now this is real. I am approved and my life is going to change! OMG!! Its really happening?! Some anxiety and being excited all at the same time over this! :) I cant wait. I have prayed for this many years, since I was a child. Although then it was for vainity, now my weight has become insanity and I believe God finally answered my prayers! Wish me the best! I will keep everyone updated!

I know how you feel. I didn't had to see any doctors before my surgery, but I had to get my surgery financed and that took almost three weeks. When I finally got my approval I was so excited. It was my final step to get my surgery done. That's why I say "I know how you feel."

Congrats,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
