slimmy120 2 Posted August 7, 2008 I noticed here in WA it is getting darker before I get home from work, thus not going for all the walks I use to go on. How is everyone going with the weight loss? Any one at goal? How long have you been banded? Any positive information, have you had any problems with the band. Lets use this thread for WA people, organise get togethers etc, let people know where the support groups in WA are etc.
nat36 2 Posted August 10, 2008 My walks have definitely been interrupted by the early darkness and the fact that I have never been so cold so I dont want to go out. Had my 3rd fill on Thursday and all is good so far except I think I am getting a cold and I am waking up at night drowning in saliva, it is quite frightening so i hope it goes away soon. I ended up sleeping on the lounge sitting up last night. My Dr is very happy with my progress I have lost 65% of my excess weight and he told me most people lose about 50%. Fanny Adams 7 Posted August 10, 2008 Another Sandgroper here! I haven't had a problem with the early darkness but I don't work when I'm home in Perth (work away on a mine site), so I can get out during the day. I love walking on the crisp clear cold days but have to admit, I do it in the middle of the day, rather than early morning or evening when it is FREEZING! I guess we're all feeling the cold more as our fat blankets are melting away. That's an NSV in itself, as I was always too hot before and used to drive other people nuts by running the airconditioning flat out.

I am very embarrassed to say that I weighed myself on my birthday (20th January) and I was 132kg. Today I am 89kg so I feel much better. I look everything and compare it to how much weight I have lost eg: 20 2kg bags of sugar. I am amazed at how I could have dragged that much around. I still have no idea what size I am and go straight for the larger size it hasnt really sunk in yet. I have never been happier though. My sister asked me what was the down side of banding and I really couldnt come up with any really good reasons.
