innotu 0 Posted August 7, 2008 My operation was at 8:00am Aug. 6th with Dr. Woodhead - he, his staff and the hospital nurses were fantastic! Dr. Woodhead said it went very well - he also found and repaired a hiatial hernia (sp?). I was discharged at 4:00pm. I'm a bit sore right now and am having trouble sleeping because I slept most of the day away in recovery...but otherwise very happy to be on the other side. I must say, I feel no hunger at this point. Sipping lots of Water and walking - it really does help to get rid of the gas. Hope everyone else id doing well! k4str 0 Posted August 8, 2008 Yeah for all of us! I was banded on the 7th at 8am. I spent the night in the hospital and while I wasn't thinking that would be so fun, it turned out to be really good for me. Congrats!
innotu 0 Posted August 8, 2008 Thanks! Everyday is getting better, although the gas pains are tough - not having a bm is also not helping. The doc prescribed prevacid and gas-x and I'm also taking fibresure (clear, dissolvable fibre) to get my daily intake...but so far not much is helping - walking seems to be the best remedy for the gas pains... Hope everyone else is doing great.
Shan71 0 Posted August 8, 2008 (edited) :cursing:Oh gosh. On a daily basis I am depressed by the little progress I have made. I lost more weight getting ready for the banding than I have since the banding. I know that I do not eat correctly, because I can get a lot of things down. For example, chicken sticks, beef sticks. Fish is okay, Soups are okay. Veggies and fruits usually stick as well. So, what do I eat, cheetos, smooth chocolate. Well, of course I am not going to lose the weight eating like this, but what do I do? I exercise intermittently, do drink plenty of Water though. At least I have done one thing right.:tt2: Anyway, I just had to vent. I am embarrassed to tell people I have had the surgery due to the minimal amount of weight lost. Anyway, maybe if I start on this thread I will do better. Thanks for listening. I wish each and everyone of you the best. krtork 0 Posted August 9, 2008 Congrats on being an official bandster! Follow the advice everyone has given and you will be feeling better in no time! Walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip. That seems to really help. I was up doing housework today, running errands around town and grocery shopping. Anybody else done that yet. It was very weird. I am not hungry, the food looked yummy, but why bother buying it - weird!
amaltha 2 Posted August 9, 2008 I did that yesterday in the store. Everything I used to binge on looked great but no can do now. Step one to a new fantastic life!
Claudine1975 0 Posted August 9, 2008 I went to the grocery store during my lunch hour before I had lunch and I was able to cruise on through the store without impulse buying junk. I also didn't get hungry until 2:00 and I ate Breakfast at 9:00. It is a wonderful thing not to think about food 24/7 - I love my band:wub:
