Good moring all! I am a new poster (although I have been lurking here for awhile). After much thought and investigation, I had my band put on Monday, August 4th! It hurts but is getting much better daily (even by the hour). I did not stay in hospital, and was able to sleep in my own bed that first night. I have been trying to stick to the liquid diet (mostly Isopure), but sometimes it is difficult. Getting hungry (I think) As someone else stated here.....hungry and full at the same time....I know what that is! Can't wait to progress to the next stage. I also feel SO tired! I hope that changes as I was planning on going in to work tomorrow for a few hours. I also hope all this is worth it. I hate feeling like this!

I was also recently banded last Thursday July 31st. I just returned to work yesterday and I'm still a little sore even though it is much better. I wouldn't try to rush back to work. I have a desk job and I was still completely wiped out yesterday. It's funny that you mentioned being full and hungry at the same time. Some of it is "head hunger" but I have had times where I can feel my stomach growling but at the same time I don't want anything else to eat because I already feel full. Guess that'll be one of the things to get used to.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
