Tomorrow is the Day!!!

Recommended Posts

Im nervous as can be. Tomorrow is the day. A lot of people have given me wonderful information and have given me ideas on what to expect....i kinda got really nervous today because i had to make sure my Will and Living Will were in order JUST IN CASE. I wanted to make sure that if something did happen to me that everything was in place. What a nerve wrecking thing to imagine. I am spending the entire day with my daughter today just enjoying her company and tellin her how much i love her...although she is only 11 mos and has no clue what im saying. My surgery is at 7:30am and i have to be at the hospital at 530am. Scary!!!

I pray all goes well and hopefully it will. I will be back Friday and im sure ill come on here and tell me story...for those of you that like to hear it.

Thanks to everyone who has listened to me gripe and moan and groan...your support is what keeps a person going when the goin gets tough. I love all of you...even the silent ones that read my posts and never respond...MUAH!

MUAH! Oh, I like that! I'll write that ALL the time now! We ALL like to hear your story, at the very least let us know you are back and didn't need to use that living will! (I did the same thing with the will, made sure hubby knew where it was and all that crazy stuff) You will be FINE and it will all go smoothly. I'll be praying and thinking of you, as will others. Happy Bandday!!

You know you're stressed when going in the hospital for a few days sounds like a relaxing vacation (sounds good to me right now.) Good for you! Pretend it's a weekend-spa deal and try to make the best out of it. Good luck to you & come back soon.

YEA for Krystal! I'm so happy for you cause darlin you won't regret this one bit....well maybe a couple of times if you have gas pains like I did on my day after surgery but that was the only time I have. I can't even begin to tell you how much better I already feel since my surgery. Your baby is the same age as my granddaughter and when we went and visited them Sunday, I was able to for the first time since Hannah was born, get down on the floor and play with her! What a feeling that was! Good luck, Krystal and God's speed! You'll do great I have no doubt! Becky

Krystal, I actually got out my last 2 years tax returns and did a year to date 2005 projection in case I didn't make it. (okay, I'm a true accountant at heart). It will be fine. I had my surgery last Thursday. Eveything is going well. Looking forward to hearing from you Friday. Celeste

Krystal!!!!

Oh my gosh the day is here! I am sooo excited for you! You will be fine, and thats what your supose to do before surgery and a life altering procedure..BE NERVOUS AND GET YOUR STUFF IN ORDER! You have to because of that little baby girl! And dont kid yourself, that little girl KNOWS you love her, and she does understand a lot more than you think!!!! Tell her often how you feel ~ regardless of age, they can never hear it enough...well they think they can when they hit those akward teen years. I can't wait to hear how your doing. Your gonna be surprized at how good you feel. I was banded on May 5th, and I feel like nothing ever happened. I hit some rough spots, but ITS ALL GOOD NOW....I just think its time for a fill...Im hungry! :(

SEE YOU SOON! (Said a prayer for you today during silent meditation...I work in a high school..teehee)

Congrats. I too had my advanced directive all in order as well as a list of people and phone numbers for pet rescues in case my pets were too much for my husband. I know most people thought I was a nut. I even wrote letters to my husband and son to have in case I didn't make it. Okay, so maybe I am a nut. Anyways. :( Good luck. I am sure you will do great. I have only had mine since 5/17/05 and everyday it truly gets better. Welcome to Bandland!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
