MyMeshelle 2 Posted August 6, 2008 Im about 20 days post op...and on the pureed food stage too... I sometimes gain 2 pnds and it will stay that way for like 3 days... then i will lose 4.... Im noticing that my teeth are a better blender then the blender... I bought a "magic bullet" for this stage... but i go to blend what im eating and it just flys and sticks to the sides... its just not enough food to blend at 1 time... and i dont wanna blend a weeks worth of food... so im having no luck with the blending... im just sticking to really soft foods like cottage cheese, tuna, egg beaters, refried breans, yogurt, pudding.... and chewing REALLY well! lessme 0 Posted August 6, 2008 Hi Ride, You are okay! I gained back about 8 lbs of the 15 lbs I lost during my pre-op diet. A lot of the Soups I ate were high calorie and I didn't have any restriction with just the band and no fills. If you read the forums on fills you will see that many bandsters gain weight back even after 2 or 3 fills. It is called Bandster Hell before you get to the right restriction. I have had one fill and can still eat anything and have not lost a pound. Some people lose 50 lbs just with the band. You will be okay. Most doctors say the first 6 weeks after surgery are not for weight loss just for healing. Believe me I know how frustrating it is to follow all of the rules and still not see a weight loss. Keep reading some of the posts and you will be encouraged by others that have been where you are and then finally start losing again when they get to their "sweet spot" Hang in there and know that we are rooting for you. areellady 1 Posted August 6, 2008 You are doing just fine. Just give it some time. The weight will come off. Good luck!!
snowbird 2 Posted August 6, 2008 A half pound is so meaningless it doesn't bear noticing. It could be that you will lose it the next time you go to the bathroom. It could be the weight of the food you ate last. It is to be expected that you will gain a couple pounds when you return to solids, simply because your body will contain the food you ate and it has mass. Don't sweat the small stuff and don't be too concerned about your weight prior to your first fill.
