Wrinkly hands ?

Recommended Posts

It's been 3 months since banding, and one of the biggest noticable changes so far is my hands and fingers.

My fingers are no longer looking like sausages , but.. the skin on the top of my fingers and hands are looking kind of wrinkled and you can see all the little crack lines, even though my skin isn't overly dry.

I'm 30, and don't use any anti-aging creams or special hand lotions. But has anyone else experienced this and what can I do to make the skin appear tighter and more "youthful"?

Thanks

Purely by accident, I was using extra virgin coconut oil on my face to cure a stubborn rash. The rash went away in 3 -4 days, but the effect it had on the fine lines and wrinkles on my face and the smoothing effect it had on my hands, was so noticable, I continue to use it. It's AMAZING.

Yes, my hands are wrinkled....and I'd always been so proud of my smooth, young-looking hands. Then my neck went crepe...yuck! And now even my calves are wrinkled!! My face did, too, for a while, but it has firmed up in the past few months. Guess there's just nowhere for all that stretched out skin to go! It's a good trade-off, though!

Lol, me too. I have really REALLY skinny hands. You can see every single tendon in them, it grosses my son out completely. And the tendons now pop out in my wrists too and every bony landmark is visible. There is no fat at all on them. The skin isnt *too* bad but I definitely have 40 year old hands now. But you know what? I like them becuase even though the skin was smoother before they were fat sausange fingers, not the least bit feminine, now I have really elegant hands. I get my nails done too so they're long, and I already have long fingers, so I am really proud of my hands.

Good handcream helps a lot. I reckon I need that fat grafting though, in another 20 years I'm definitely going to have old lady claw like hands.

I treat my hands (and my chest) like I do my face, when I do my face at night, I always extend products to decolletage and hands. And nothing makes your hands feel nicer than to mix some sea salt and olive oil and give them a really good scrub.

I would say drink plenty of Water, excercise and also do your Dr. have you on Biotin. This is a Vitamin for hair, nails and skin. Not only have I notice a difference in my skin but my husband noticed if first. How firm it is and soft and full of moisture it is.

Try different advice to see what will work for you. Something will do the trick and you will feel better about your hands and skin. Enjoy and work with the change of a new you!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
