It has been three months and I am stilling getting sick, food stuck and I have not had a fill yet. Going to the doctors today still will not get a fill. I have to tell her how sick I have been. I chew slowly, I take small bites and must of the time I am heading for the bathroom. Any ideas?

Oh dear, I'm really sorry about how miserable you must be right now. Are you able to drink any Protein Shakes? If so, do they come back up? I don't have much in advice, but I do think that you should have an x-ray to make sure that your band is okay. What does your doctor say about you still getting sick and all? Has she suggested an x-ray before? Good luck at your doctor's and I hope that you can get this resolved soon. Believe it or not, once you get over this hurdle, the band is awesome! - Brenda

I want to my doctor's yesterday and she is going do one of three choices. Take it out, go in to make sure that it is in the right position, and or take it out and have gastric done. I am going with the second choice. We had done x rays, cat scan I have been in the hospital three times because of needing IV fluids along with other testing. I just hope that this works. I do not hope this works I pray it does. There are some wrist involve. If anyone has been thought what i am going though please let me know. I can keep liquid downs as long as I am not stuck. If I get stuck than I can not even get liquids down. I get stuck at least three times a week if not more. I have not had a fill.

You should be able to keep 3 meals of solids down without getting sick unless your not chewing enough.

Question, do you try to eat at different times during the day solids or is it just you get sick in the am and assume that means you can't keep them down the rest of the day? Reason I ask is I can't eat solids in the am without drinking my Water first to loosen the band a bit.

If that's not it and it's been more than 2 full days since your last fill and you can't keep solids down you should probably call and have them remove some. Sounds like your too full....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
